Establishment of activities aimed at development of Generic model of dual education

The representatives of the University of Montenegro and partners from companies attended the meeting at the Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro, in Podgorica, on July 7th, at which discussion related to the development of a Generic model of dual education and legal framework of the country was held. Each member took an active role in the discussion and gave ideas on how to implement dual education in Montenegro, taking into account the specific requirements of the most important stakeholders – HEIs, companies, and students.

The participants gave initial proposals on which Generic model of dual education should be based, considering differences that exist between educational programs of faculties participating in the project. In that manner, they defined a set of activities that should be done in the forthcoming period.

Those activities include:

  • The analysis of specificities of the legal framework of the country that is related to the implementation of dual education. As key pillars for this segment are recognized the University of Montenegro, Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, and Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
  • Focusing on Generic dual education model development. As key pillars for this segment are recognized University of Montenegro (representatives of each faculty that participate in the project), Agency for Control and Quality Assurance, and Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
  • Development of a specific model of dual education based on Generic one, considering the specificities of educational programs in all participating faculties, as well as interests and proposals of companies and Chamber of Commerce.

At the end of the meeting, participants agreed to prepare concrete proposals based on previously defined activities, which will be discuses at the next meeting scheduled for the beginning of September 2021.
